Glass takes a look at latest Louis Vuitton Objets Nomades

Anemona from Atelier Biagetti for Louis Vuitton Objets Nomades

LOUIS VUITTON has debuted 10 new Objets Nomades pieces at the annual Milan furniture fair, Salone del Mobile, hosted at the Palazzo Serbelloni. The latest travel inspired collection sees the fashion house explore an array of stylistic influences, drawing from wonders of the natural world and ancient Buddhist art, all the while maintaining a feel of playfulness and functionality.

Bulbo from the Campana Brothers for Louis Vuitton Objets Nomades

Developed in collaboration with Brazilian design duo, the Campana Brothers, Bulbo is an immediate standout – lined with Louis Vuitton leather and shaped like a hollowed-out tropical bud, to call Bulbo a chair would be a disservice. One imagines that sitting within the layered petal-like walls of the Bulbo would feel like being totally enveloped, as if inside of a rose blooming in retrograde.

Anemona from Atelier Biagetti for Louis Vuitton Objets Nomades

Milan based design house Atelier Biagetti has contributed Anemona, a stunning glass-top table built upon an undulating base. The waved shape of the Anemona’s pedestal brings to mind foliaceous coral, which, paired with the deep blue at its centre, gives Anemona an Atlantis-esque appeal.

Mandala from Zanellato/Bortotto for Louis Vuitton Objets Nomades

Italian duo Zanellato/Bortotto makes its debut with Mandala, a beautiful mingling of nomadic craftsmanship and Buddhist iconography. The tripartite screen adapts the conventional mandala symbol to incorporate the classic flower shape of Louis Vuitton’s monogram.
