Gucci shines a light on the Horsebit 1955 bag in new campaign

GUCCI’s latest campaign, shot by Mert Alaş and Marcus Piggott, highlights one of the House’s most famed bags, the Horsebit 1955. Featuring pioneering women such as Halle Bailey, Hanni and Julia Garner, the campaign demonstrates the effortless, feminine appeal of the bag.

The three women featured in the campaign all have distinct, unique styles which solidifies the universal appeal of the Horsebit 1955. Halle Bailey has recently starred in the live-action Disney film The Little Mermaid, Hanni is a Global Brand Ambassador and member of the acclaimed Korean group NewJeans and Julia Garner is an esteemed, respected actress.

Gucci has always been heavily influenced by the equestrian world and the Horsebit has become an emblematic symbol for the brand. By referencing its equestrian roots, the brand reiterates the importance of legacy and history in such a fast-changing, capricious world.

The Horsebit originally appeared on a pair of loafers in 1953 before shortly emerging on various brand merchandise, including handbags. The Horsebit 1955 has since evolved and is now available in many different sizes, colours and materials to further establish its place as a modern wardrobe necessity.
