FOUNDED in 2018 by Executive Chef Christos Fotos alongside Jem Akyuz and his son, Ilhan, JUL’S has steadily carved out a name for itself on the shores of Ibiza. Now, the Mediterranean restaurant and bar has brought its vibrant cuisine to the heart of London.
Just a stone’s throw away from Piccadilly Circus, the newest JUL’S location is difficult to miss. Housed within a former bank, the space has been transformed into a richly textured, tactile setting where no detail has been overlooked. Designed by Arcset, the interiors boast marble and mosaic floors, scorched wooden accents, sweeping stone surfaces, and nature-inspired ornamental touches, such as gold snails adorning the walls.

The cuisine is equally considered, with fresh, seasonal ingredients taking centre stage. Standout dishes include the beef tartare accompanied by marrow milk bread, caviar, and truffle; stone bass with monk’s beard, kale, and kefir sauce; and smoked chicken with bulgur, sour cherry, and chicken jus.

Desserts provide a refreshing close to the meal, leaning towards lighter, more delicate flavours. The sumac pavlova, served with rhubarb sorbet and marigold consommé, was a particular favourite, rounding off the experience with a floral yet subtly sharp finish.
Speaking on the opening, Christos Fotos said: “JUL’s culinary philosophy is rooted in my Mediterranean upbringing – centred around the ingredients and big, generous plates. At JUL’S London, we aim to recreate that sense of connection, offering thoughtfully prepared, abundant dishes.”
For those looking to enjoy a glass of wine with their meal, the restaurant’s 6.5-metre glass wine wall has much to offer. Spotlighting some of Europe’s finest wines, guests can opt for more niche bottles from small artisanal growers or more familiar classics. Meanwhile, downstairs, Bar Directors Vasilis Sgouromallis and Dimitris Karapanos helm No. 11, an intimate cocktail bar serving unique drinks that truly capture the spirit of the Mediterranean.

Blending refined design with ingredient-led cooking, JUL’S London captures the energy of its Ibiza origins while feeling perfectly at ease in the capital. Whether stopping by for a relaxing lunch or late-night cocktails downstairs, JUL’S makes an exciting new addition to London’s dining scene.
