LFW AW15: Sibling

The punky and notably spunky direction of decorum over at Sibling at the moment, which did them very well during LC:M, made for a real head-turner yesterday. Blaring out Blondie as loud as could be on the boombox, Bates, Bryan and McCreery invigorated AW15 with a New Wave fervour, going as literally as pasting their favourite song lyrics onto bubbly latex creations.

The S&M stylings, described colourfully as a “sex shop shine” by the designers, were all pieced together with the most honourable intentions, slashed with fox fur and other figure hugging knitted elements in glowing hot pink and oily blacks. For the trio abit of poppy nostalgia is impossible to resist and this was plain to see, yet the made a very good effort of keeping it fresh. A far too congested Somerset House courtyard space during the show was enough to show that this freshness keeps the young ‘uns hooked two ways between their iPhones and the show, respectively.

Many pieces were however put together with an almost grandiose couturiers eye and retained a chicness that sat very well among the anarchic jocularity. Beyond that, the accessories tied together the whole high-impact package spectacularly in one of the most narratively engaging shows among the very few in London this season. Baby-G collaborated with Sibling and created a new range of watches for the show. Call us Sibling mad but we are hooked on the high jinks of it all.
