A year out from their first collaboration, Marc Jacobs and Kiko Kostadinov are joined by ASICS SportStyle to debut their one-time release, GEL-LOKROS, in the second instalment of Heaven.
The collection is paired with a series of garments with graphic works by Malaysian-born, Australian artist Spencer Lai, and London-based illustrator and animator Alice Bloomfield.
The campaign takes us on a subway adventure with none other than Kiko Mizuhara and, of course, her rat. Wearing a series of washed jersey pieces with plunging necklines cut to show off the intricate glass-beaded necklace.
With a backdrop of Times Square, the images shot in New York by Taiwanese photographer John Yuyi are gorgeously playful and carefree.
Showcasing the power of collaboration, commissions of textural graphic works with prose by Spencer Lai are spot-lit, as the artist uses repurposed materials from Heaven by Marc Jacobs, and pairs them with screen printing methods.
Applied onto a washed denim skirt-trouser and a multi-wear hooded sweatshirt, a series of studs adorn a black, asymmetrical skirt.
Always innovative in design, the GEL-LOKROS are the lovechild of GEL-KIRIL tooling and Mary Jane classics, with a quilted upper holding an elastic fastening system in chaotic straps reminiscent of children’s shoes.
Present in glitter and pearlescent qualities, ASICS’ GELTM cushioning is placed tactically within the midsole, aiding with the dispersion of force on impact, while the AHARPLUS heel plug aids durability for long term use.
The footwear is offered in three colour combinations; Vapor/Cosmos, Faded Denim/Pale Aqua and Graphite Grey/Gunmetal.
