GIORGIO Armani’s latest collection continues to exhibit a fluent evolution of his designs, effortless elegance and precision – and a delicate, yet bold, sense of luxury. Aptly entitled Nocturnal, the AW21 womenswear collection presents a discourse between day and night.

Embodying the mellow mood of an autumnal evening, the show takes place in a dark room accompanied by a sublime yet upbeat instrumental. The room then fills with a continuous stream of airy and freely flowing silhouettes.
With the intention of enhancing femininity and personality, the collection showcases a somewhat romantic palette with colours of rich turquoise, an array of blues, soft purples and pinks hues. Of course, the shade of black is frequently featured to demonstrate night, while the brighter colours intersperse to offer daylight.

Black blazers and navy dresses are adorned with sequins, like inky skies speckled with stars, while some skirts and jackets display an orb-like print, expressing the collection’s astral motif.

Velvet and silk feature heavily, conveying Armani’s luxe and sophistication. Pieces are finished with delicate flower embellishments; collars are accentuated with striking ruffles; trousers are relaxed and loose-fitting; long dresses are segments of bright light.
