MFW AW23: Iceberg

ICEBERG’s autumn/winter 2023 collection is all about mixing and clashing different fabrics and styles to create a playful, tough, and quintessentially Iceberg look. Creative director James Long revisits iconic brand moments, such as a 2001 campaign featuring Pamela Anderson, to create a fresh yet nostalgic collection.

Biker leathers are cut wide and embellished with an embroidered Daffy Duck, while faux-leather hooded jackets are ultra-padded. Leather is mixed with knit in unique ways, like a faux-leather corset dress with a fitted shape from ribbed knit, and knit padded jackets pay homage to co-founder Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.

Houndstooth tailoring made from recycled wool is zipped for punk spirit, and brushed mohair sweaters feature Hector from Looney Tunes. Calf-length padded coats with zippered hips are versatile and chic. Throughout the collection, knitwear techniques are experimented with, such as a macramé biker coated to look like it’s knitted from rubbish bags.

In addition, Signature ‘I’ boots inspired by Pamela Anderson’s look from the early naughties and thigh-high boots with a comfy heel are on display, as well as contrast leather bikers with spider-leg panels sporting an Iceberg ‘I’.

The release is a creative celebration of the brand’s history, incorporating a combination of rugged and lighthearted elements to achieve the signature Iceberg aesthetic that is bound to resonate with individuals who enjoy blending and contrasting styles with a fun and carefree demeanour.
