MFWM AW19: Les Hommes

WHILE a Himalayan-hiking and ‘90s rave-themed collection may not jump to mind when envisioning Milan Fashion Week Mens, it has made its way to the forefront through Belgian luxury menswear brand Les Hommes. Characterised by its distinctive tailoring, rugged structuring, and strong silhouettes, the brand combines the best elements of more formal-wear with street style to create its urban collection.

For its fall collection, the brand has opted for more relaxed pieces in comparison to previous collections, which could feel too refined to the point of rigidity. Now embracing a more lively and playful design, the brand has come into fruition through its cool and chic take on streetwear. Bringing a new edginess to the label, Les Hommes played with transparent materials, metallic pieces and neon colour in many of the pieces.

As if the brand could take on no more weird and wonderful inspiration, the wrapped tunics paid homage to the dress codes of Tibetan monks. However, overall, the collection stayed true to its combined theme of rural hiking with a ‘90s raver twist.
