JUST a day before the Louis Vuitton SS18 menswear collection was seen at the Palais Royal in Paris, Canadian rapper, Drake, uploaded an image on Instagram announcing that he will be releasing a new single called Signs inspired by Kim Jones’ upcoming collection. The image gave us a sneak peak of what to expect. The brand certainly knows how to create a buzz.
A beach-style motif was seen throughout as models wore neoprene scuba tights, LV logo tight turtle necks – which can be passed off as rash guards – chunky, platform sandals and 2000s shell necklaces. Hawaiian printed shirts were also seen in blues, yellows and pink and greens with a sheer printed over-top. With gelled hair the look gave off a noughties club atmosphere.
Besides the fluorescent flowers, the colour palette was a range of blues. A Glass favourite was the white rash guard covered with a pale blue and white pinstripe shirt with loosely fitted navy shorts with a fury bomber jacket lined with white and black stripes creating an athletic leisure feel.
The LV monogram was also seen throughout in the form of duffle bags, small wallet bags, belts in a range of colours as well as the classic brown and gold. Thick black, studded shoes, sheer socks and denim buckets hat mixed and complimented the unique garments seen this season.
