Miu Miu releases jewellery collaboration with artists Nathalie Djurberg and Hans Berg

THE PLAYFUL partnership between the Nathalie Djurberg and Hans Berg furthers Miu Miu’s commitment to enabling artists as jewellers, whilst pushing the boundaries of contemporary jewellery design in a way which merges two artistic mediums as one.

Inspired by their 2015 sculpture project, A Thief Caught in the Act, the jewellery emulates the craftsmanship of the pair with the animals and pills visible in the sculptures now fashioned into earrings and necklaces. The project itself was, as described by the artists: “a wish to escape with humour and gentleness,” generating an element of mischief and comedy not too dissimilar to the playfulness that inspired this younger brand to be founded in the first place.

The packaging for the resin jewellery was likewise designed by Djurberg and Berg. Stamped with a Miu Miu emblem, the boxes are painted with flora and fauna in a fondant colour palette, playing a song composed especially by Hans Berg when opened.

“I first met Nathalie and Hans in 2005…Three years later we exhibited their work at the Fondazione Prada and since then, our dialogue has been constant. It has been so interesting to see how their work developed through time, encompassing different mediums, and always eager to confront with a new mindset,” mentions Miuccia Prada, in reflection of the collaboration.
