MILAN-based fashion organisation Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI; National Chamber of Italian Fashion) has announced its decision to host this season’s Milan Fashion Week digitally. Milan Digital Fashion Week will therefore take place from July 14 to July 17 and will feature men’s SS21 collections as well as men and women’s SS21 pre-collections.
The decision to move Milan Fashion Week came as a response to the ongoing health crisis and followed CNMI’s successful February 2020 campaign “China We Are With You”, which hosted AW20 at Milan Fashion Week digitally for all the absent customers, primarily from China. CNMI added that alongside SS21 fashion shows and photography, it will feature interviews, behind the scenes of brands’ creative processes, webinars, live streams and live performances.

Reacting to the ongoing financial instability related to the pandemic, with Milan Digital Fashion Week CNMI will support not only established brands, but also the young brands by funding the production of their digital content, assisting in online events and featuring brands’ showrooms.
“Our objective is both to support the restart of the entire fashion industry and to reach out to the media, buyers and the entire fashion community with a huge array of content consigned for all the players in the system,” comments CNMI president Carlo Capasa.
Milan Digital Fashion week will be available to stream online either on CNMI’s digital channel or its social media. CNMI will also be collaborating with a variety of newspapers, magazines and influencers which will be reporting the event from a distance.
