Plisskën festival 2014 line up announced

The line-up for Plissken music festival 2014 has just been announced. The annual festival, held in Athens, features a wide array of various music genres and aims to bring eclectic artists to Greece. The music event, established in 2010,  was nominated for a commended rating by the Greener Festival Awards and Best Indoor Festival in the 2013 European Festival Awards, promises to yet again delight and entertain the public with its unique multi-genre music roster and a wide range of attendant activities.

In June this year the Plissken festival-goers will have the chance to enjoy the electronic titans Fuck Buttons, Mount Kimbie, the hyped indie Black Lips, the low-fi rockers No Age and Dirty Beaches, the psych-tingled grooves of Damien Jurado and a whole lot more.

More than 40 artists will perform at the festival, all  surrounded by a  garden in full bloom, a play area, a lounge and comedy stage, a chill-out bar with  delicious refreshing cocktails and innovative decoration enhancing the vibe.

The full line-up for this year’s festival is: Mount Kimbie, Wild Beasts, Vitalic, Fuck Buttons, Wooden Shjips, Cooly G, D/R/U/G/S, Damien Juried, Black Lips, Shackleton, Nightmares On Wax, No Age, 65 Days Of Static, Fink, Dirty Beaches, Crocodiles, Deadbeat, Eagles For Hands, Nadia Ksaiba, Lifelike, A Victim Of Society, Begun, Bombing The Avenue, Djuma Soundsystem, Dotmessage, Dub Pistols, Ghost Culture, Girls VS Boys, Imam Baildi soundststem, Kyoka and Mickey Lightfoot.

The festival, apart from fast establishing itself as an essential go to event, has a green environmental policy with an emphasis on sustainability; combines the music celebration with the history of Athens; and gives the chance for young people to contribute to the event planning and to assist backstage through a gamut of workshops and tasks known as the Lab.

For those who appreciate great music, who want to explore new bands and artists and also the beauty of Athens, Plissken festival is becoming an essential fixture on the international festival list.
