Glass learns about the limitless world of superyacht design of Dutch shipyard Heesen

THE  famous Dutch shipyard Heesen are celebrating their anniversary this year after successfully producing premium yachts for 40 years. With an impressive range of over 150 yacht designs, Heesen step into 2018 with more innovation as they launch two new brand concepts along with gaining more awards for their work.

Project Maximus and Project Avanti are two new Heesen creations that have exceeded past designs possessing even more luxury and aesthetic excitement for yacht. We were able to meet the with the design team at Winch design along with the CEO of Heesen, Arthur Brouwer and Mark Cavendish, Sales Director of Heesen in a special workshop revealing the endless possibilities of superyacht design.

Winch are trained to make every yacht owner’s dream a reality. Their designers are primed to transform dreams into a reality by sketching down plans within minutes as the client shares their ideas. During our session with them, we flood the designer with bold demands of a swimming pool, spa and recording studio. Within 30 minutes, these requests were turned into a reality with a finished yacht design drawn in front of our eyes.

A Heesen superyacht

Andrew Winch, the founder of Winch Design, has been working with Heesen in order to launch their new Avanti 66 metre motor yacht which features stunning interiors and exteriors. The architecture is influenced by a mirror like concept, meaning the yacht’s surface reflects the sky and ocean. Each element of the new designs demonstrates forward thinking and luxury, leaving almost no element of personalisation impossible.

In the new Avanti yacht, Winch have designed both the interior and exterior as they also create bespoke sculpted fittings for yachts in the shipyard. It’s important to correlate visual aesthetic and Winch are masters of maintaining the yachts have the correct profile inside and outside. Enterprising architecture allows owners to enjoy views at all times with panoramic cabin views and infinity edge pools at the front rear of yachts.

Custom yacht drafts

Jacuzzis, bars and cinemas can all be installed on the sundeck of the yacht. These designs can provide interior and exterior dining for up to 12 guests as well as comfortable family living.
