Glass discovers some zen at the Prince Akatoki Hotel, London

THE Prince Akatoki Hotel brings renowned Japanese hospitality to the heart of London. Located in Marylebone, the five-star luxury hotel offers an alternative haven to the many accommodation options in the city. Guests can expect a unique experience that celebrates Japanese art, rituals, history and culture.

The entrance

There is something tranquil about watching the morning sun seep through the blinds as the world outside begins to wake up slowly. The Prince Akatoki Hotel – Akatoki, a word derived from a Japanese word for “dawn” or “daybreak” – establishes the tranquil feeling with their interiors.

Inspired by Japanese architecture, the rooms and suites are minimalistic and elegant. They have a calming neutral colour palette, wood furnishings and large windows that invite sunlight in to fill the space. Everything has been intentionally designed to create a sanctuary where guests can relax and rejuvenate from decor details to a bespoke pillow spray turndown amenity.

Prince Akatoki

Tradition and mastery collide at the destination dining restaurant TOKii. The hotel’s expert chefs have developed an expansive menu of fusion cuisine with distinct Japanese influence. Guests can feast on delectable yuzu miso salmon bites or lotus crisps followed by a main course of fresh sushi and sashimi. Don’t forget to end the night off with your pick from the hotel’s Malt Lounge and Bar cocktail menu, which features a memorable selection of premium drinks.

Studio Suite

In the hustle and bustle of the international centre that is London, it is rare to find an atmosphere as serene as the Prince Akatoki Hotel. Japanese mindfulness and meditation practices encourage practitioners to slow down and be fully present in each moment, and no hotel enables this quite like the Prince Akatoki.
