SHOWCASING its international allure, Louis Vuitton has just unveiled its Pre-Fall 2024 collection with a new Voyager show in Shanghai.
Having held its previous pre-fall collection in Seoul, the acclaimed fashion House has now taken to China’s biggest city to present Nicolas Ghesquière’s latest pieces.
Echoing archival designs, the latest seasonal offering taps into the Maison’s historical roots. However, by subverting, renewing and reviving past motifs, the collection demonstrates Louis Vuitton’s ability to adapt and evolve with the ages.
In particular, the House pays homage to China’s youth through eclectic use of colour and form. As a result, Louis Vuitton has collaborated with Sun Yitian, an upcoming contemporary artist for the new collection.
Known for her paintings of mass-produced objects, the Beijing-based artist’s figurative bestiary playfully distorts an array of silhouettes. Contesting representation with abstraction, the artist renders staged photographs in a range of exciting mediums.
Utilising delicate minutiae and subtle juxtapositions, Yitian’s painterly world is carefully weaved into Ghesquière’s creative universe.
Scintillating satins intertwine with inflated volumes and strong lines in a refreshing display of fluidity. Meanwhile, metallic hardware details marry industrial collars and bedazzled bustiers for further flare.
For pre-fall 2024, accessories are placed at the forefront. Icons such as the Petite Malle, the Twist, the OnTheGo, the Diane, the Loop, the Side Trunk, the Atlantis, the Noé, the Cannes, the Camera Box, the Capucines and the Dauphine make an appearance and usher in a new chapter for the Maison.
Meanwhile, exemplifying Louis Vuitton’s interest in the art of travel, the Slim Trunk makes an appearance alongside its illustrious counterparts.
Presenting The Prefall 2024 collection at the Long Museum – China’s largest private museum – Louis Vuitton continues to captivate hearts across the globe.
