Promising to evoke the dusty grandeur of Indian palaces, echoing maharajas and maharanis, the glossy white runway of Bloomsbury Ballroom was set for some East-West fusion. The result was surprisingly light and white – luckily some might say – a sharp and delightful collection with plenty of Osman´ssignature clean lines and cut-outs. Full, feminine skirts got an asymmetric update, a drapey glistening embroidered fabric fell gracefully from the waist to form semi-transparent skirts and dresses and beautiful 3D dots added a subtle hint of bling to cropped chalky duck egg blue tops. Black and inky denim added depth to the palette, while faded coral, orange and royal blue made flash appearances along with gold and silver metallics.
A delicate turban-inspired knot at the waist of trousers and skirts subtly hinted to the collection theme, so did the soft layering of sheer skirts and white cigarette trousers and the graphically cut bustiers paired with paper-waisted trousers, but it was carried out ever so carefully and felt thoroughly intelligent and supremely modern.
