ASPINAL of London has appointed British designer, Giles Deacon, as the brand’s new Design Director. This move comes after the successful collaboration between the designer and accessories brand in the GilesxAspinal capsule accessories collection, which made its debut during London Fashion Week SS19. The collection was made up of bags, leather accessories and silk scarves.

Encouraged by the brand to bring his own creative flair to the collection, Deacon’s colourful designs were characterised by hand-drawn London ladies, which Deacon explained were made with the “Aspinal girl” in mind.

After launching the GilesxAspinal collection, I am thrilled to be joining Aspinal of London as their Design Director,”says Deacon. “I feel a real affinity for the brand and I am looking forward to the exciting work ahead together.”
While Deacon will also continue as Creative Director at his own label, Giles Deacon Couture, this appointment represents an exciting step for both the designer and the Aspinal brand.
Aspinal of London founder, Iain Burton, said, “As a modern heritage brand, Aspinal is always thinking of the ‘now’ and the ‘next’ while affectionately incorporating influences from the past, and we feel that Giles’ unique and highly creative talent truly encapsulates this spirit.”
