Astier de Villatte x Wes Anderson Launch Letter Notepad

ASTIER de Villatte has released a letterpress notepad developed with Wes Anderson and the artist-edition house We Do Not Work Alone. The Paris-based design house, founded in 1996 by Benoît Astier de Villatte and Ivan Pericoli, works across ceramics, letterpress printing, publishing and perfume.

The notebook features eight letterheads, each based on a different film: The Grand Budapest Hotel, Moonrise Kingdom, The Darjeeling Limited, Hotel Chevalier, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Rushmore, The French Dispatch and The Phoenician Scheme. Each design appears in sixteen sheets, totalling 128 pages.

The covers are hand-printed on old Heidelberg presses and reproduce a geometric pattern taken from Benicio del Toro’s kimono in The Phoenician Scheme. All covers are different, with each sheet inside being a different colour, giving the spine a striped, rainbow effect.
