As the weather finally closes in for a chilly winter, we look to the streets of London for style inspiration with an eccentrically British twist. The good news is that dresses and skirts are still on the menu – but become more weather-appropriate with opaque tights and tough boots. With each season’s abundance of contrasting catwalk trends, there is always one which emerges above any other on the streets. This Winter, Gothic Victoriana reigns supreme. Take your style cues from Valentino’s AW13 girl and temper a Wednesday Addams colour palette with neat, polished hair, or add a hint of the vampish with a blood red lip. This season’s gothic look is played out with an insouciant androgyny – the key here is simplicity and elegance.
