Bottega Veneta’s BV Bold shoe line for PF20

DANIEL Lee’s brave direction for Bottega Veneta is embodied in the abstracted silhouettes of his PF20 BV Bold shoe line. The spectrum of thigh-high and ankle boots, and open and closed-toe mules, are united by a shared stiletto heel and hidden platform.

The shoes’ square toes exaggerate the slope of the arch – elevated heel to broad toe. At once elegant and audacious, they offer the union of luxury and avant-garde for which Lee’s Bottega Veneta has become known.

The PF20 collection offered a mix of textures— shoes made of leather both smooth, and woven in Lee’s intrecciato style. Puffy winter coats, slinky sequin dresses and sleek leather trousers were matched by the soft stretch of the leather sock boots, and the weave of the mules. Bulbous-toed sandals match the abstracted silhouettes of sporty outerwear, where the buttery leather of the mules compliments the soft, feminine drape of dresses and skirts.

The shoes are cast in a palette of baby blue, candy pink, bright chartreuse, and softer creams, among others; and textured with a mix of broad weaving, delicate plaiting and smooth uppers. The result is an exciting blend of rich materials and experimental design.
