David Koma adds a touch of frost with his Pre-Fall 2023 collection

THE EVER-extravagant David Koma has released their 2023 pre-fall collection online, and all of a sudden we’re reminiscing about those frosty mornings and cold nights.

It may not match the sudden heatwave tearing through the country right now, but Koma’s pre-emptive collection is an absolute confection of wintery glamour. Inspired by the female record holder of the annual Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, DeeDee Ann Jonrowe, the designs centre the uniforms of polar adventurers, but through a distinctly modern, feminine lens.

The collection is an almost comical mix of practicality and impracticality, which is probably what makes it so alluring. Asymmetric mini dresses with ostrich feather plumes and halter neck chrome bodysuits are partnered with cropped puffer jackets and Mongolian shearling knee-high boots.

Overall, David Koma’s pre-fall collection evokes an atmosphere of a modern snow queen, and continues his line of beautiful creations in a way that marries humour, opulence and attitude all in one.
