Givenchy release new spring/summer menswear campaign starring Alkaline

THOUGH creative director of the House since 2020, the latest campaign by Givenchy marks Matthew M. Williams’ first dedicated menswear campaign, photographed by the designer himself.

Starring dancehall star Alkaline, the images tiptoe the boundary between Givenchy’s heritage in fine craftsmanship and tailoring, juxtaposed with the more urban aesthetic Williams has injected since his time at the helm, as many of his projects explore.

Throughout the campaign, Alkaline appears in hero pieces from the spring/summer collection, including distressed camouflage jackets, tailored overcoats, and a white leather jacket embroidered with Givenchy lettering and motifs.

The elements of tailoring and streetwear are given a post-modern twist with two standout accessories. One, a reinvented pair of the sleek Giv-Cut sunglasses, and two, a pair of vulcanised rubber rainboots. The boots, with their spherical design and patent finish immediately draw attention, and will surely become one of this years hottest shoes to watch.
