MY FAMILY and I are spending the weekend at The Apartments, 11 Cadogan Gardens. These recently launched self-contained dwellings form part of 11 Cadogan Gardens hotel, with 56 boutique guest rooms including 25 suites. Managed by Iconic Luxury Hotels UK, this is the brand behind some of the UK’s most renowned hotels such as Cliveden House, Chewton Glen, The Lygon Arms and The Mayfair Townhouse.

Located just off Sloane Square, Chelsea, the apartments are set behind a red brick Victorian façade. Offering a new style of long-stay and family style accommodation to 11 Cadogan Gardens hotel, The Apartments are arranged over six floors, with one, two or three-bedroom residences.
There are six apartments in total and my grown-up family of five are in the spacious two-bedroom, two-bathroom basement, with sunny views of the gated, private Cadogan Gardens, onto which we have access, away from the bustle of The King’s Road a few feet away.

The décor is inspired by the property’s locality to the annual Chelsea Flower Show with contemporary botanical wallpapers and furnishings in neutral tones contributing to the peaceful vibe – including a plump sofa.
This is where we all flop in front of the TV after a day spent living like a local by walking to view contemporary art at the nearby Saatchi Gallery followed by a shopping spree in neighbouring Knightsbridge.

In the kitchen we find a packed fridge and a basket full of breakfast goodies from the local artisanal baker but we manage to polish these off well before sunset.
We also enjoyed a late brunch delivered by Hans’ Bar & Grill, the hotel’s restaurant, where we also ordered our dinner, enjoyed while all seated at our dining table. It was as if we had all moved in – and we never wanted to leave.
