Glass finds Hollywood glamour on the west coast at L’Ermitage

CRUISING down a palm-lined street under the hot Californian noonday sun, I’m engulfed in a hazy Hollywood state of mind before I have even reached the L’Ermitage.

The anticipation of finally discovering this jewel of Beverly Hills elegance is heightened every second as I steadily make my approach, and by the time I have arrived I’m practically buzzing with excitement.

America’s premiere all-suite hotel, L’Ermitage has maintained an interesting persona since opening in 1975. Although the residence has seen some changes, it maintains a sort of retro charm that harks back to its founding, perhaps a key reason as to why it has been a fixture on five-star travel lists for decades.

The suites reflect the light of the midday sun in all their neutral glory, and make for a comfortable and familiar excursion though modern luxury: spacious living areas, tiled bathrooms and balconies introduced through French doors.

Though the hotel boasts an impressive roster of 116 suites, guests can pick and choose from a list of six different designs depending on their wants and needs, from the understated Classic Suite to the coveted L’Ermitage Suite that exudes decadent luxury. Regardless of your choice, you will be indulged to the fullest.

Palm Suite

Outside of the suites is a playground of Californian opulence awaiting guests. From the rooftop terrace, where I find myself watching the sun set, to the spa and the charming pool that looks back toward the hills, this hotel is bustling with luxury comfort.
