A REMINDER of the 1980’s when Basquiat rose to success as part of the Neo Expressionism movement in New York. Many of his multi faceted paintings have been likened to expansive compositions of jazz – strokes, gestures, symbols and diagrams – where his paintings have double and triple meanings.
His paintings are the influence for this story- a collision of imagery, information & stimuli. In the words of Jean Michael Basquiat, ’the more I paint, the more I like everything’.
