INSPIRED by the different aspects of one’s life, from nature to travel to art and architecture, Ralph & Russo‘s autumn-winter 2020 couture collection was produced with the things we all missed during lockdown in mind. Looking at the environment, the designers Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo used the wonders of the world, specifically the cultures that surround these magnificent places to draw elements into their clothes.
The colours and vibrancy, specifically in florals were digitalised to create different patterns and visual effects on fabrics, such as blurs using photographs of petals on flowers.

Ralph & Russo have utilised the digital sphere by mixing the modern technology with the traditional aspects of couture. Tamara Ralph explains that she had to find new ways to showcase the brand’s ability to design elegant dresses through technological advancements. The brand created a muse by inventing an AI avatar on their computer called Hauli – whose name translates to strength and power.
