Jacuzzi brings Italian decadence to West London

SINCE first stepping foot in London, Big Mamma restaurants have always been the talk of the town and at the beginning of 2023, we saw the arrival of Jacuzzi in West London.

The Lavish Italian restaurant, more like a four-floor mansion, is another laid-back trattoria, serving authentic classics like Neapolitan pizzas and famous pasta dishes served in huge pecorino wheels.

Upon arrival, it’s like we’ve entered an Italian home, with trinkets, rattan furniture and foliage scattered throughout the restaurant. Even though it’s part of a family of Italian eateries, it still has its own charm. The place exudes a relaxing ambience, with candle lit tables and dreamy chandeliers – it’s intimate, but you can still be a part of the crowd.

The GLASS team were spoilt for choice with the extensive menu curated by Head Chef Manuel who cherry-picks only the finest ingredients. To solve the difficult challenge of decision making, we opted to begin with a selection of starters to share: the Burrata, Insalatina Trevigiana al Gorgonzola, Crocchette di Vitello Tonnato and scallops to be exact.

With every mouthful we were whisked away to Italy and with the delicious Sardinian red wine Cannonau di Sardegna D.O.C. 2022 – it was a perfect start to the evening.

The second course fills the table with the colossal Mafaldine al Tartufo pasta in the pecorino wheel, melt-in-the-mouth and generously portioned Carpaccio di Manzo, and a beautifully balanced Risotto di Mare with clams and cuttlefish, topped with Mazara del Vallo red prawns.

Pudding is also a sharing affair, where the Sorbetto al Limeno, Gelato al Pistacchio and the oh-so-popular Lemon Tart made their way to our table. Delightful, sweet treats to finish a faultless evening.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who dreams of escaping to warmer weathers, sipping wine and indulging on Italian delicacies. Jacuzzi brings Italian authenticity and warmth to the heart of the city, no doubt making, if not already, its mark in Mayfair.
