LFW 14: DAKS

The Daks Autumn/Winter 14 collection, celebrating the brand’s 120-year anniversary, was memorable on so many levels. Opening the runway show was the video from the label’s campaign featuring the style councillor himself, Paul Weller and his daughter Leah – both decked in Daks neutral tones with Leah wearing hints of House Check.

The collection was all about the silhouette. Luxurious fabrics from 100 per cent double-faced cashmere and nappa leather to pony skin and  silk were heavily featured along with splashes of metallic.  Tailoring emphasising the waist was evident along with military styling.

Tones seen were mutated autumnal in shades of plum, camel, brown and military green. Elbow length quilted gloves and clutches were featured to accessorise and flashes of House check was evident.  However, the strongest silhouette had to be that of the oversized fur busby, nodding at their British heritage. The finale, a cashmere over-sized ball-gown, stole the show.
