“WE ARE all navigating the digital landscape right now, but my brand operates on a human-scale. How to cross the divide?” questions Edeline Lee with her AW21 collection.
This season, the British-Canadian designer chose to present her latest offering as a short story divided into two parts; a 15-minute podcast titled Memory of a Dress created in collaboration with veteran podcaster Paul Bae and a moving-image look book.

“Perhaps it is subversive to produce an audio sound-only fashion show. But we all know that a piece of clothing can hold much more significance than only its appearance. I wanted to contemplate how memory and nostalgia can be held by a piece of clothing. How the soul of a dress can inherently give the wearer a sense of stability, confidence and power,” she adds.

Lee, who has garnered a wealth of loyal customers with her universally flattering wrap dresses and no-fuss separates, this season, expanded on her feminine oeuvre with complex fabric manipulation and confident colour-blocking.

The House’s signature Flou Bubble Jacquard was updated in dark hues of malachite and raven-black, while the Georgette Champion appeared in shades of brown, amber, green and mustard. The line-up also included a brand-new capsule of loungewear made of 100% GOTS certified organic cotton.
“I wanted to make some luxurious, sustainable staples that one could wear out, but also sleep in,” Lee concludes. “You can roll out of bed and take a Zoom call in these pieces!”
