Loewe presents the XL and Nano Flamenco clutch bags

INTRODUCED in Loewe’s headline-grabbing AW21 collection, Jonathan Anderson’s latest additions to the Flamenco family are highlighted by contrasting silhouettes: the tiny Nano Flamenco clutch bag is small enough to be held in one palm, while the XL Flamenco clutch is large enough to be an overnight bag.

“I’ve always thought it had that energy to it; this idea of subtleness,” says Anderson of the Flamenco. “Blowing it up really showcases the Nappa leather in its rawest and purest form.”

Spanning nearly half-a-metre wide, the XL Flamenco is lined with soft herringbone cotton canvas and boasts zipped pockets and large top handles that can be easily concealed, allowing it to be worn as a tote or carried as an oversized clutch.

Like the regular-sized Flamenco and the mini Flamenco that come in new colourways this season, the XL Flamenco is available in black, burnt red, warm desert and vintage khaki.

The Nano clutch – available in an array of playful colours including blossom, mustard, rosemary, soft white, vermillion and candy – features many of the same aspects as the XL, but at a much smaller scale. At just 15 centimetres wide, the bag features a gold metal shoulder strap and jaunty leather knots – a detail first introduced by Anderson to the Flamenco family in 2014 – which cinch the top of the bag shut.

First unveiled in 1984, the Flamenco has undergone many interpretations over the years in a host of different fabrics, jacquards and leathers, slowly but surely cementing the bag as one of the most versatile and beloved accessories of its time.
