PRESENTING their new Fall/Winter 2023 collection at Pitti Filati, Loro Piana, are back again with a fresh range of yarns. Over the course of the next couple of days, 29 June – 1 July, a wide selection of these will be showcased to capture an innovative, modernised reinvention of tradition. With a respectful approach through hours of research and development, Loro Piana have successfully captured an avant-garde appearance, combined with delicacy and comfort.
Their new series is completed with a variety of carded yarns by adding Dream Coarsehair®, Iris Coarsehair®, Twist Coarsehair®, and Donegal Coarsehair® variants to traditional Coarsehair® Nm 2/11 yarn.
Loro Piana Fall Winter 2023-2024 Yarns Collection: Donegal Coarsehair®
Coarsehair® is a 100% cashmere yarn, crafted by mixing the dreamy softness and lightness of fibres, with the athletic attitude of Shetland, as the surface hair creates a unique, fluffy effect, ensuring an even softer finish.
The collection carries a warm, tonal palette, featuring shades of forest green and navy blue, alongside terracotta and brown. With the new Donegal Coarsehair®, a delicate, rustic yet timeless effect is created, inspired by the wild landscapes of the homonymous place. The pieces, more suitable for casual and sporty knitwear, embrace a silhouette that’s perfect for winter days.

The process of creating the Dream Coarsehair® follows an innovative transformation into a yarn more compact, slightly heavier but perfectly round and linear. The plainer colours are solid, while the mélange ones are expertly blended to present a chromatic abundance of a legion of shades, and through contrasting tones, strong and delicate effects are created.
That is the case of the new Twist Coarsehair®, a special mouliné yarn for knitwear that suits all occasions, as well as the in Iris Coarsehair®. Traditions of modernity are met with informal hints through these three twisted yarns, evoking a playful sense into the collection.

With experience in the textile field dating back longer than six generations, Loro Piana adds a delightful new entry into the Wish® family: Wish® Keramos. The soft yarn promotes high performance through a combination of 100% brushed wool, made from merino, with a fineness that’s best compared to cashmere. The fibres contain bio-ceramic ions that can absorb and reflect body heat, so for this reason it is recommended for sportswear.
