Maison Kitsuné presents their SS19 collection: Ancora Tu

ANCORA TU, the title of Maison Kitsuné’s SS19 collection, means “you again” in Italian. But who is “You”? Perhaps it evokes a summer romance from times gone by, perhaps we can also direct the phrase You Again to fashion’s romance with the Italian Riviera. Inspiring this collection as it has inspired many before it from designers throughout, the Italian Riviera – and its associated images of the sun, the sea, the citrus fruits – continues to captivate.

For SS19, Maison Kitsuné brings La Dolce Vita centrestage with their imaginings of lazy summertime escapades and hazy memories from times spent along the famous Italian coast. Invoking the tricolore of the Italian flag, the signature Kitsuné fox is hued in red, white and green. The presence of the sea also makes its appearance in the form of sailor-boy stripes and mother-of-pearl detailing. Other echoes to Italian culture manifest, be they Sicily’s emblematic yellow lemons, vintage Italian postcards, or the Vespas that popular culture has come to identify with Italy.

The collection is both chic yet casual, capturing the air of glamorous insouciance that accompanies La Dolce Vita. With this collection, whisk me away, Maison Kitsuné!
