Mallorcan Bliss at Purobeach Resort Santa Ponsa

SET high in the hills of Santa Ponsa, I arrive at Purobeach Resort Santa Ponsa – Oasis del Mar and immediately feel the pace of life soften. Surrounded by pine trees and overlooking the glittering Mediterranean, the resort blends naturally into Mallorca’s rugged southwest coastline.

Just 30 minutes from Palma de Mallorca, it feels secluded yet connected to everything that makes the island so magnetic.

I spend my mornings slowly, opening the balcony doors to sea views and the scent of salt carried on the breeze. The rooms are calm and understated, dressed in warm Mediterranean tones that mirror the landscape outside. Down by the heated outdoor pool, the atmosphere shifts effortlessly between laid-back beach club energy and restorative wellness escape. Signature Puro Music drifts through the air as guests move between sun loungers, yoga sessions and the open-air gym.

Dining at ONA becomes the highlight of my stay. Led by Chef César García de la Riva, the restaurant captures the essence of Mallorca through simplicity, seasonality and locally sourced ingredients. As the sun begins to set over the sea, I settle onto the terrace and watch dishes arrive from the Josper grill, each one layered with smoky depth and clean Mediterranean flavours. The charcoal-grilled octopus is unforgettable, while the hake medallions with lobster sauce perfectly reflect the restaurant’s balance between refinement and restraint.

Beyond the resort, I discover another side of Mallorca. The Serra de Tramuntana mountains rise dramatically in the distance, with hiking trails and ancient olive groves only minutes away. Back at the hotel, evenings unfold slowly with cocktails by the beach club and golden sunsets over the water.

At Purobeach Resort Santa Ponsa, luxury feels effortless. It is less about excess and more about atmosphere, wellbeing and connection to the island itself.
