THE stripped-back Eckhaus Latta Spring/Summer 2022 presentation took place on a side street in Brooklyn, with the front row seated in folding chairs while the rest of the crowd huddled around in the remaining standing area.
Sexy and purposeful cutouts were a recurring motif not only throughout their collection but NYFW as a whole. Rather than covering the tattoos of their male and female models, the Eckhaus Latta designs put them on display in sheer fabrics and revealing silhouettes.
The muted colour palette featured earthy shades of beige, brown and grey with the occasional pop of toxic waste neon green, fuchsia and burnt orange. Matching sets were a favoured theme ranging from a chocolate, faux leather short and trench coat to a green, chunky knit cropped sweater and drawstring trouser look.
There was no shortage of texture. Corduroy was utilised in a matching drawstring trouser and button-up set, and a transparent, grey silk dress clung to the body held together by only a string. The designer duo Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta of brand Eckhaus Latta once again proved they are the cool kids of New York Fashion Week.
