MUSIC legend, Paul McCartney has announced that he will be releasing a new studio album titled, McCartney III on December 11 via Capitol Record.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of Paul McCartney’s self-titled solo album, McCartney, and this new release from the Beatles veteran will be part three of a solo musical trilogy.

Each record from the trilogy is said to represent a new era in music for the 78 year old musician. McCartney and McCartney II both saw Paul make music that reflected the decade he was in. From these records we were able to enjoy classic pop hits such as Maybe I’m Amazed, along with the more experimental ’80s sounds in McCartney II.
If the first two records are anything to go by, we can expect another collection of timeless hits from Paul along with an updated glimpse into McCartney’s musical mind.

Speaking about his new album McCartney III, Paul said, “I was living lockdown life on my farm with my family and I would go to my studio every day. I had to do a little bit of work on some film music and that turned into the opening track and then when it was done I thought what will I do next? I had some stuff I’d worked on over the years but sometimes time would run out and it would be left half-finished so I started thinking about what I had.
“Each day I’d start recording with the instrument I wrote the song on and then gradually layer it all up, it was a lot of fun. It was about making music for yourself rather than making music that has to do a job. So, I just did stuff I fancied doing. I had no idea this would end up as an album.”
The album is entirely written and produced by Paul McCartney, and was recorded earlier at the beginning of lockdown in Sussex. It consists of a series of live recordings of Paul playing the guitar, bass, piano, drums and live vocals.
