PFW AW14: Corrie Nielsen

A fixed presence at London Fashion Week for the past six seasons, Corrie Nielsen chose to debut her latest collection in Paris for AW 2014. Inspired by the arts and literature, the US-born, UK-trained designer showcased a series of cocooned looks, with cinched-in waists, curved peplums and oversized hips.

The ensembles enhanced the female form with controlled tailoring, yet covered the skin in a sophisticated, ladylike fashion. Matched with silver mesh bonnets and ruff collars, the collection was reminiscent of the Elizabethan era.

Remaining true to her trademark sculptured aesthetic, Nielsen celebrated her technical abilities – as well as the iconic feminine heroes of English literature -through her latest offering, whilst adding a hint of Parisian glamour with a palate of soft gold, silver and navy blue.
