PFW AW21: Elie Saab

ELIE Saab tells an intricate story with the AW21 collection – taking us on an exciting journey between realms. Aptly entitled Reflecting Worlds, each piece possesses its own narrative, oozing poise, strength and charm.

Celebrating femininity in all its power and allure, the collection strikes a balance between subtle and bold, fluid and structure, and graceful and wild. Presented digitally, directed by Patrick Sawaya, with an upbeat soundtrack, the collection begins its spellbinding story.

Opening with black dresses cascading with ruffles of tulle and lace on a mesh outer layer, the collection is immediately enticing.

A plot line emerges, welcoming polka-dot patterned pieces. Black materials are specked with white dots and are also accentuated with white block panels. The black and white theme continues in both sleek and loose-fitting suits and A-line dresses.

Evoking a delicate and discreet tone, the collection features a jumpsuit with silver detailing, confident shoulders and ruched sleeves. This design is also seen on an A-line dress and full-length gown.

The storyline is embedded with woven floral materials sometimes worn as overlays, and striking patterns that move the silhouette into a geometric zone.

Of course, the story reveals its plot twists, showcasing thigh-high leather boots, sunglasses, and bursts of colour. Splashes of baby pink are embellished with feathered contours, deep turquoise dresses are generously adorned with sequins, and a lime green gown is made from a soft silk.
