FRENCH Riviera luxe was brought to the runway with Hermès SS20 collection for PWFM. One can almost imagine strolling along the seafront in an ensemble of pink, mint and lemon yellow with a matching icecream in hand. These colours prevail in Véronique Nichanian’s most recent collection and showcase just how Hermès should be worn – while travelling.
Nichanian plays with pattern, combining knitted jumpers (for those breezy spring mornings or early flights) with abstract shapes in a cubism-esque style, and incorporating a chain motif on a crisp white shirt for a little extra flare. Loose, striped trousers and chinos in neutral colours contrast pleasingly with the collection’s careful use of colour and add a sense of relaxed chic to the looks. Textures are also toyed with – leather sandals and coats are interspersed with suede jackets and silk scarves.
Each look is completed with the classic Hermès silk scarf in pops of candyfloss pink or Aperol orange and forever lasting, ever fashionable Hermès leather sandals. These two accessories make for the perfect travel companions whether you are being swept away on a Mediterranean beach or getting whisked around a bustling souq.
