Prada Mode, a social club providing its members with exclusive cultural, artistic and dining experiences, heads to South Korea for its next instalment. Plural and Parallel, the 10th iteration of the event, will explore themes of mortality and absence through culinary experiences, screenings, conversations, musical performances, immersive installations and more.
Running alongside Frieze Seoul, the city will be transformed into an exuberant, enriching creative hub with Prada Mode Seoul taking place at the KOTE venue on September 5th and 6th. Curated by Lee Sook-Kyung – an expert in the world of contemporary art curation – the tenth iteration will showcase the nation’s expertise in filmmaking through interconnected, interactive spaces.
Highlighting the work and practice of three notorious South Korean film directors – Kim Jee-woon, Yeon Sang-ho and Jeong Dahee – the event promises to offer insight into the different unique approaches of the producers.
Speaking on the importance of the discipline, Lee Sook-Kyung said: “Films impact culture by reflecting the values and ideas that already exist in a given culture but also by opening up new possibilities and visions. What we see in films are both reflections of realities and promises of imagined worlds, a product and prompt of collective imagination”.
With the directors having produced prolific films such as Train to Busan, The Good, the Bad, the Weird and Movements, the event will exemplify the talent, expertise and genius of the South Korean film industry.
