FRENCH fashion house Saint Laurent has announced their latest collaboration with the Gio Ponti Archives and Fundación Anala y Armando Planchart alongside Milan Design Week.
The partnership sees a series of plates with an exhibition curated by Saint Laurent’s creative director, Anthony Vaccarello, which will take place at Milans’s Chiostri Di San Simpliciano.

The plates presented recall a story that dates back to Venezuela in 1953 when Anala and Armando Planchart commissioned Italian architect Gio Ponti to design an avant-garde villa found upon a hill that looks over Caracas.
Ponti sought after the most skilled artisans Italy had to offer, including the Florentine manufacturer Ginori 1735, whom he had formerly worked for as artistic director.

The partnership brought to life a set of porcelain tableware adorned with motifs representative of the villa, such as the Sun, the Crescent Moon, the Polar Star and imitations of the letter ‘A’ as a means to honour Anala and Armando.

Saint Laurent Rive Droite has worked closely with Ginori 1735 to reissue 12 plates from the Villa Planchart Segnaposto collection, designed by Gio Ponti back in 1957, for the public to appreciate.
Available to visit and indulge in, the Gio Ponti — Villa Planchart exhibition will be shown at the Chiostri Di San Simpliciano in Milan from the 16th to the 21st of April.
