Sophia Webster expands bag range and wins award

SOPHIA Webster’s quirky take on modern femininity has cemented her status as a London fashion stalwart. Sophia’s eponymous label has been overwhelmingly well received – just last night, Sophia won the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund, significant not only because the designer beat Emilia Wickstead and Mother of Pearl among others, but because she is only the second footwear designer ever to win the award.

The designer has previously won the BFC’s New Gen Award for her first three seasons, as well as Conde Nast’s Footwear Emerging Designer of the Year award for 2012.

But its not only the fashion industry recognising Webster’s talent – her shoes are a commercial hit as well as being a celebrity staple. Prestigious stockists such as Net-a-Porter, Harrods and Selfridges have all fallen for the now iconic shoes, and stars such as Diane Kruger, Jennifer Lawrence and Emily Blunt can all be counted as fans of the brand.

And now with the brand’s recently expanded bag line, there’s more ways than ever to indulge in Sophia’s instantly recognisable designs. Featuring a range of tote bags, cross-body bags and red-carpet worthy minaudière clutches, the nautical-inspired pieces have a selection sure to appeal to the masses.

Like Webster’s shoes, the bags are affordably priced – the Izzy tote bag (pictured below) retails at £295. As such the new collection is already selling out, so all keen Sophia enthusiasts should be sure not to miss out.
