Stella McCartney and Adidas reunite for the Rasant trainer

STELLA McCartney and Adidas have continued their decades-long partnership with the launch of the Rasant trainer.

Having made its debut on McCartney’s spring-summer 2025 runway in Paris, it’s been seen on models such as Alex Consani and athletes like Tom Daley and Anna Hall. The Rasant was inspired by the iconic Adidas Monza sneaker, originally worn by the legendary racing driver, Mario Andretti in 1977.

McCartney has taken the Monza’s famous boxing boot silhouette and revised it to birth the Ransant. The shoe’s recognisable design is softened, with cascading laces covering the back. The balance of masculine and feminine touches like its inherent sportiness and sexiness is another classic continuation of their collaboration.

Aligning with her ethics, the trainer is cruelty and animal free, staying true to McCartney’s ethos of pushing innovation while remaining sustainable.

Initially released in 2001, when McCartney launched her eponymous label, she styled models in the Monza sneaker, which began the first conversation between the brands, and eventually led to the launch of adidas by Stella McCartney in 2004.

With so much history behind it already, the Rasant is one of this season’s most anticipated releases.
