The North Face unveils collaboration with Cecilie Bahnsen

CAPTURING our attention back in September during Paris Fashion Week, Cecilie Bahnsen expanded her forte for thoughtful collaborations with The North Face.

Bringing her ethereal femininity to the leading outdoor brand, the hero pieces from the past, specifically those designed by Ingrid Harshbarger are given an ultra-modern revamp – like the Mountain Dress, the Mountain jacket and updated versions of the Basecamp Duffel and Glenclyffe Boot.

“I’ve always loved how women around the world wear my designs in their own way, and this collaboration builds on that spirit,” explained Bahnsen. “The North Face’s technical expertise not only complements my designs but elevates how it’s lived in—effortless, functional, and ready for every day”.

Naturally, this capsule is centred around not only its looks but also its functionality. High-performance materials with technical finishes are manipulated into sculptural silhouettes that offer both volume and lightness to the looks. Elegance meets exploration here as the Danish designer’s moving forms are translated into a monochromatic palette that imbues contemporary minimalism and echoes her luxury fashion background with couture-like additions such as 3D floral appliqués and scalloped edges. It’s been designed to be worn every day without looking mundane.

To reflect the female strength that embodies all aspects of this collaboration, the adjoining campaign stars 2024 Olympic climbing silver medalist Brooke Raboutou, 2020 Olympic commentator Molly Thompson-Smith, and pro-climber Solenne Piret. Together the trio of pioneering women are captured near Paris at Fontainebleau to showcase the connection between poise and athleticism.

“This campaign is such a special moment for me—it captures the meeting of two worlds, where the feminine and the outdoors come together in perfect harmony,” she shares. “Seeing these strong, inspiring women embody both elegance and strength while climbing in the designs was incredibly moving and highlights the synergy between our brands.”
