FROM the 16th to the 18th of February, the inaugural Oberoi Concours d’Elegance is taking place at The Oberoi Udaivilās. Showcasing a breathtaking collection of classic automobiles and motorcycles from India and abroad, the event is set to captivate car cognoscenti from across the globe.
The Oberoi Concours d’Elegance
Curated by one of India’s most lauded automotive historians, Mr Manvendra Singh Barwani, the event will showcase vehicles owned by Indian royalty, and also private collectors.
At the event, a panel of esteemed judges – including Ms Sandra Button, the Chairperson of Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance – will assess and compare the motorcycles across a selection of different categories.
Alongside Ms Sandra Button, champions such as Giacomo Agostini and Jacky Ickx will oversee the competition to ensure that the most impressive vehicles are recognised. The event will also spotlight work by Tim Layzell – a renowned automobile artist – who has expertly designed an exclusive poster.
Speaking on the competition, Ms Sandra Button said: “India’s automotive history has captivated me for over 15 years. The Oberoi Concours d’Elegance is more than a celebration; it’s a gathering of the world’s automotive elite, uniting leads, collectors, racers and journalists. As Chief Judge, I’m honoured to recognise the exceptional individuals behind these remarkable cars.”

The Oberoi Concours d’Elegance also celebrates the 90th anniversary of Oberoi Hotels & Resorts. As such, Moët Hennessy India has been announced as the official celebration partner. However, the event has also welcomed Stefano Ricci as another partner, who will host an exclusive pop-up showcasing its Sartorial line.
Combining history, artistry and community, The Oberoi Concours d’Elegance is certain to illustrate a unique story of automotive heritage.
