Then and now: celebrating 50 years of The London College of Furniture

The internationally renowned London College of Furniture is this month celebrating its 50th anniversary. To mark half a century of championing design and creativity, over 70 pieces of furniture, machinery, photographs and archive materials have been curated into an exhibition at its successor, CASS at the London Metropolitan University.

To celebrate its legacy, pieces have been collected and donated by alumni, lectures, designers and craftspersons that attended the institution from 1964 to 1992. Highlights include Lucian Ercolani’s (Ercol) iconic post-war minimal designs and the vast Frederick Parker Collection that unites 140 chairs alone.
