Glass reviews UpCircle sustainable skincare

SUSTAINABLE. Recyclable. Organic. Vegan. Words at the tip of everyone’s tongue right now, especially in the beauty industry, and none do these better than UpCircle. Made from used coffee grounds and brewed chai tea spices (which normally just get thrown in the bin after your morning cappuccino), UpCircle has realised the potential of these products in their wonderful array of face and body scrubs and soap bars.

The Floral Blend face scrub

My favourite product of theirs has to be the Floral blend face scrub. Specially formulated for sensitive skin like mine, made with Chamomile, Rosehip, Geranium and Patchouli essential oils, this is my new favourite exfoliator. Gentle enough to not cause redness and still getting rid of any dead skin, this leaves my skin with a glow I barely have to work for. Plus, it smells fantastic. The use of shea butter means you fall into a coffee, chocolate, rose daydream – imagine stepping into a Belgian chocolatier and standing in front of the counter of little rose and coffee bean truffles.

UpCircle also make coffee-based body scrubs, natural soaps from brewed chai tea spices and an organic face serum with oil extracted from used coffee grounds. Both the new soaps and serum are certified by Soil Association and COSMOS.

The body scrubs come in a choice of three flavours – lemongrass with lime, tangerine with grapefruit and peppermint with eucalyptus. Each scrub is also blended with sea salt for exfoliation and coconut oil for after-scrub moisturisation.

All products are also palm-oil free, so you can rest easy knowing absolutely no animals are getting harmed in the process, and your beauty products don’t come at the detriment of the rainforest. Good for the planet and for you, UpCircle’s skincare will leave you smelling and feeling incredible, on the inside and out.
