VAN CLEEF and Arpels celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Alhambra collection with a luxurious party at Hong Kong’s Central Harbourfront. The occasion was marked with friends of the maison in recognition and appreciation of their continuous support of the Van Cleef and Arpels house.

The Alhambra collection began in 1968 with the iconic long necklace, the now-established motif of a four-leaf clover exemplifying how the brand values its symbol of luck. This classic long necklace soon came to embody the House’s timeless style and savour-faire.
Van Cleef and Arpels has long treasured the concept of luck, making the most of the emblematic four-leaf clover in the Alhambra designs. The icon’s importance has historical significance for the House, referring to Jacques Arpels’ habit of collecting them in his own search for good fortune.
Appropriately then, the Habourfront’s garden was decorated with four-leaf clover statues, and the surrounding ambience of the location perfectly embodied the aesthetic created by Burcu and Geoffrey, the artists who produce the company’s distinctive artwork.
Against the Hong Kong skyline and the panoramic view of the Victoria Harbour, ‘70s style photo booths offered the guests the chance to immerse themselves in the world in which the Alhambra collection was first born.

“To be lucky, you have to believe in luck,” Jacques Arpels used to say. Sitting down to eat a dinner envisioned by Michelin-starred chef Hélène Darroze, under a star-studded ceiling in one of Hong Kong’s most beautiful and luxurious locations, the guests certainly came to believe in luck.
