The world’s only mountain-top champagne and caviar bar has just opened somewhere on Aspen Mountain, Colorado, and can be found every weekend during the ski-season.
Named Oasis, a large “snowcat” (think of an on-piste travelling champagne bar, pulled by a big city-like food truck) will be roaming around the mountain, where it will be serving a rather regal combination of Veuve Cliquot champagne and California Caviar.
The Oasis will change location each week and its whereabouts can easily be spotted by Veuve Cliquqot’s heavily logo-ed umbrellas and chaises-lounges, in addition to being heard from afar by a solar high- powered sound system. In order to discover its exact whereabouts, eager guests can follow its hints on social media channels.
“Because Oasis may be gone as quickly as it appears, it compels you to experience it, or you risk missing the opportunity,” describes Ted Mahon, a long- time ski instructor. “It’s not about having a drink – it’s about spontaneity and living in the moment.”
Oasis is operated by The Little Nell, a year-round luxury destination hotel, located just steps away from Aspen Mountain. The resort has just earned the prestigious Forbes Five-Star Award for 2015, which makes it the only property in Aspen to receive this distinction. Offering 92 guest rooms, including 11 suites and three signature suites, its interiors are designed by the renowned Holly Hunt.
