Celebrate the Year of the Tiger with Gucci’s special capsule collection

THE celebrations aren’t over yet as the Year of the Tiger officially commences on 1 February. And, with the need to continue the welcoming of a new year, Gucci is launching a special collection made up of ready-to-wear and accessories adorned with the special animal.

Designed by Creative Director Alessandro Michele, this capsule perfectly feeds into his love of nature as he reinterprets the 1960s archival design by Vittorio Accornero in a pastel palette.

Carefully linking the past and present with this contemporary take on a classic, the collection is also adorned with other staples of the Italian brand, such as the equestrian motifs, interlocking Gs and GG monogram.

Sweatshirts, outerwear and denim are highlights of this exciting launch, however a notable mention is the watches debut with a new eco-friendly sustainable design balancing recycled steel with animal-free Demetra to renew old materials in the most luxury manner. If that wasn’t enough, the brand’s commitment to responsible sourcing is further seen in the 100% recycled polyester handles and organic cotton ribbons across their handbag line.

Brought to life by Angelo Pennetta, actual tigers roam across the campaign scenes fuelling the star of this coming year as high-tea becomes a thrilling excursion.

Since February 2020, Gucci has pledged their help at The Lion’s Share Fund raising funds to protect endangered species and their natural habitats, so this capsule collection holds a significant place in the House’s current ideology.
