ONE OF the capital’s most recognisable residences, The Dorchester have embarked on a new design venture in collaboration with Sestini Eyewear, merging the hotel’s legacy with modern craftsmanship.
It is a common misconception that as the days get colder, our sunglasses should be pushed to the back of the drawer, as well as our SPF. This is entirely incorrect, and The Dorchester are making sure to change that narrative with their collaboration with Sestini.
The Dorchester x Sestini – The Dorchester Sunglasses
Handcrafted in Italy, each pair is individually moulded by the singular craftsperson of the Sestini atelier, meaning precision is inherent within the brand’s DNA. Using little to no virgin materials, the Italian house present a sustainable alternative to most eyewear options, championing the use of acquired vintage acetates for the frame, and crafting pouches and cloths for packaging out of recycled plastic bottles collected from the ocean.
The frames of the limited edition glasses featured in The Dorchester Sunglasses collection, derive inspiration from 20th century interior designer Oliver Messel, who’s work is filtered throughout the stronghold of luxury. Engraved with The Dorchester’s new logo, the designs are an exclusive marriage of English luxury and Italian sensibility.
